I would like to raise the issue of the road construction in the Osiedle Kwiatowe neighborhood on Sokola Street. We were all happy that we would finally have a beautiful, wide and safe road, but I have the impression that the officials who designed the road focused more on the sidewalks and bicycle paths than on the road itself.

In connection with the report we received, we asked Bolesławiec City Hall to respond to the issues raised.

Investment worth over PLN 5 million

Let us recall that in mid-July, Bolesławiec City Hall reported on the progress of work on the construction of Sokola Street. The investment is being carried out by ZIB ELTOR from Lubań, and the value of the works amounts to PLN 5,108,950, of which PLN 4,260,513 comes from the Government Polish Deal: Strategic Investment Programme.

As the city authorities emphasized, the project includes not only the construction of a new roadway, but also comprehensive technical infrastructure. A stormwater drainage system, water supply network, sanitary sewer system and new street lighting are being built.

The new Sokola Street is to be nearly 878 meters long, with a six-meter-wide two-lane roadway, a three-meter-wide pedestrian and bicycle path, access roads to properties and shoulders. As part of the investment, an approximately 50-meter section of Miłorzębowa Street is also being built.

The project also includes the construction of more than 770 meters of stormwater drainage, more than 639 meters of water supply network, nearly 265 meters of sanitary sewer system, and the installation of 40 energy-efficient LED streetlights, including additional lighting for pedestrian crossings.

According to the schedule, the works are planned to be completed by the end of August. According to Bolesławiec City Hall’s announcements, the investment is intended to improve safety and transport comfort in the developing Osiedle Kwiatowe neighborhood.

We will return to this matter.
