A young reader who asked us to describe the matter was upset.

– I want to report a dangerous incident at the skatepark – he wrote to the editorial office. – Some woman began threatening the children that they would lose their teeth in a moment and told them "get the f**k out", because some girl had started pulling at a small boy. My friend wanted to pull her slightly away from the poor kid, and then the girl started hitting him on the hand with her fist and ran away. On top of that, the woman came over and started swearing at us and recording us – the young man added.

Unfortunately, the incident was not reported to the police. The young people were so outraged by the adult's behavior that they decided to report the matter to local media. Seeing that they were being recorded, the boys photographed the woman as she left the skatepark with a little girl. They did not record or photograph the incident itself.

Adults, caught up in their emotions, forget that children have the right to dignity just like every adult, even when it is necessary to intervene in a conflict situation. Dignity is a fundamental human right guaranteeing respect and protection from all forms of degrading treatment or violence. In Poland, it follows directly from the Constitution of the Republic of Poland (Article 30) and the Family and Guardianship Code (Article 95), which require children to be raised with respect for their rights and dignity.
