As PKS Bolesławiec informed us today:
The services on the Nowa Kuźnia – Bolesławiec route were suspended from one day to the next as a result of a decision by a private carrier. PKS Bolesławiec was not a party to that decision and had no influence either on its adoption or on the date when the services were halted.
Gromadka Municipality intervened
The county-owned company: – After receiving information about the suspension of the services and reports concerning residents’ problems with securing daily transport to work, healthcare facilities and offices, the head of Gromadka Municipality asked PKS Bolesławiec to consider launching a connection on the Nowa Kuźnia – Bolesławiec route.
Will the connection with Nowa Kuźnia return?
PKS:
Work is currently under way to prepare the necessary documentation and analyze the organizational and formal requirements needed to launch a new service. Such actions require the completion of certain procedures, so it is not possible to launch the connection immediately.
But it immediately adds:
PKS Bolesławiec is making every effort to ensure that this process proceeds as smoothly as possible. At this stage, however, we cannot provide a specific date for the start of the services. We will inform you of all decisions and the date when the connection is launched as soon as the necessary procedures have been completed and the required arrangements obtained.
And assures: – We are aware of how important transport connections are for residents, which is why we are making every effort to find a solution that will restore the possibility of traveling along this route.
Let us recall. Yesterday, we reported that residents of Nowa Kuźnia were complaining about the lack of bus connections with Bolesławiec after, according to their accounts, a private carrier suspended the services until the end of August. A person who claimed that the decision was causing serious problems with daily travel to work, offices or doctors contacted our newsroom. Reader:
The Nowa Kuźnia – Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec – Nowa Kuźnia services have been suspended until the end of August. How are people supposed to get to work when there is no transport there – neither PKS nor anything else?
He added that the connections are not expected to be restored until September 1, when the summer holidays end and students return to school.
– People work, and those from the village have no way to get to work – he emphasized.
Questions to the carrier remain unanswered
On July 7, the newsroom sent questions to the private carrier regarding the suspension of the connections. We have not received a response so far. We were also unable to contact the carrier by telephone.
Questions were also sent to PKS Bolesławiec
In connection with reports from residents, the newsroom also asked PKS Bolesławiec whether it could provide alternative transport.
