At night, from July 17 to 18, an operation was carried out. At 1:18 a.m., the OSP KSRG Warta Bolesławiecka unit was dispatched to search for a senior citizen who, according to the information provided, had left his home in the morning the previous day and had not returned home.

After arriving at the scene, the services held a briefing and designated search sectors using the SIRON platform, which supports efforts to locate missing persons. Rescuers searched the designated areas both from the ground and from the air.

Specialist equipment was used in the operation, including a DJI Matrice 4TD unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a thermal-imaging camera and a rescue quad bike. This made it possible to efficiently check difficult-to-access terrain, including at night.

The breakthrough came after approximately four hours of intensive efforts. Rescuers travelling by quad bike found the missing 83-year-old man beside his car. The man was conscious, but complained of spinal pain and pain in his lower limb.

A Medical Rescue Team was called to the scene. After examining the senior, the medics decided to take him to hospital for further diagnosis and treatment.

Firefighters emphasize that the operation’s success was possible thanks to the efficient cooperation of all the services involved and the use of modern equipment. The search ended with the missing man being found and safely handed over to medical care.
