The detention followed actions by officers from the Economic Crime Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. The 23-year-old resident of the city had been hiding from law enforcement authorities to avoid criminal liability.

He allegedly exploited relationships with clients

Investigators’ findings indicate that the suspect worked as a personal trainer at one of the fitness clubs in Jelenia Góra. During his cooperation with clients, he allegedly built relationships based on trust and then presented them with an offer to jointly invest in the purchase of real estate.

The trainer allegedly convinced them that the investment would be exceptionally attractive and guarantee financial benefits. However, investigators claim that he had no intention of carrying it out from the outset.

Clients took out loans

According to the findings, between May 26 and June 19, 2026, three victims decided to give the suspect substantial sums of money.

To obtain funds for the investment, they took out cash loans. Police say that the 23-year-old allegedly actively assisted in obtaining the financing and then persuaded the clients to transfer the money to his bank account.

The total losses suffered by the victims amount to nearly PLN 2 million.

Charges and temporary detention

On the basis of the collected evidence, the man was charged with fraud. At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, the District Court ordered his temporary detention for three months.

The alleged offence carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing

Police emphasize that the case is developing. Officers, acting under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, are checking whether the number of victims may be higher and whether other people also participated in the scheme.
