Firefighting units from the Nowogrodziec municipality are working at the scene, carrying out operations to limit the effects of the flooding and secure threatened areas. Residents are asked to exercise particular caution and avoid areas where the water level has risen sharply.
Today's storms passed, among other places, over Bolesławiec County, bringing heavy rainfall and local rises in watercourses. It was precisely the sudden increase in the water level that led to the dangerous situation in Wykroty.
People living near the river should follow announcements from the emergency services and local authorities on an ongoing basis. If heavy rainfall continues, the situation may change, so it is advisable to follow firefighters' instructions and not drive onto flooded roads.
