An intervention took place in one of the localities in Bolesławiec County. Police were called after a report concerning the aggressive behavior of a 39-year-old man. At the scene, they determined that the man, while under the influence of alcohol, threatened his neighbors with assault, taking their lives and setting the residential building on fire.

Officers also determined that the suspect had violated a court-ordered ban on approaching one of the victims. In the police's assessment, the 39-year-old's behavior posed a real threat to residents' safety, so he was detained.

It turned out that just two weeks earlier, the man had left prison, where he had served a sentence for similar offenses. After his detention, he was charged with making criminal threats and violating a court order.

At the request of the District Prosecutor's Office in Bolesławiec, the court decided to place the suspect in pre-trial detention for a period of two months. Investigators indicate that the man acted under recidivist conditions, which means he may face more severe criminal liability.

The offenses with which he is charged carry a penalty of up to 7.5 years in prison.
