Bolesławiec Society of Friends of Children, as every year, organized a holiday camp for children from our county. This time, the camp took place in Jantar. A total of 135 people took part. Some of them were able to travel to the seaside thanks to financial support from institutions and foundations cooperating with TPD.
Parents of children in particularly difficult health and financial situations paid a symbolic amount for their children's trip (the camp was co-financed by: Bolesławiec Municipal Office and Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Bolesławiec). Meanwhile, thanks to the Polska Miedź Foundation, 20 children from rural communities went to the Baltic coast free of charge. The camps for some of the children were also co-financed by: Communal Social Welfare Centre in Osiecznica and Municipal and Communal Social Welfare Centre in Nowogrodziec. People with disabilities received funding from Bolesławiec County (PFRON). What is more, the trip for two children with physical disabilities was paid for by the PKO BP SA Foundation from Warsaw. Some of the children saw the sea for the first time.
The campers could not complain about boredom. The organizers prepared many attractions: excursions, fitness classes, aerobics, various competitions (including art and singing competitions), a fair of wonders, fancy-dress balls and camp baptisms. “These activities enabled the children to fully integrate,” says Jadwiga Bobek, head of the Bolesławiec TPD.
