Mrs Kamila, a resident of Bolesławiec and the fundraiser organiser:
I never imagined that I would have to ask for help buying a wheelchair whose price exceeds the value of our car. And yet, today I am facing precisely such a challenge.
My son has been staying at a ZOL for six years. Despite all the difficulties, we try to live actively and enjoy every moment together. We like cycling trips, walks, running and trips to the mountains. These are the moments that give us strength and allow us to forget our everyday limitations.
Unfortunately, his current wheelchair is now definitely too small and does not provide him with proper positioning. We need a specialised wheelchair that will be safe and comfortable and allow us to remain active together.
Such a wheelchair costs more than PLN 31,000. The National Health Fund subsidy amounts to only PLN 3,000, and we must cover the remaining amount ourselves.
And she adds:
Just a few years ago, a similar wheelchair cost around PLN 12,000. Today, its price is so high that financing the purchase on our own is beyond our means.
And emphasises:
I am not asking for pity. I do not want to talk about how difficult things can be, although there are difficult days. I want to ask for support in making something beautiful possible – the opportunity to continue living together beyond the limitations of illness.
Every contribution, even the smallest one, brings us closer to our goal. Every share offers a chance for our story to reach more people.
And concludes:

This wheelchair is not meant to limit us. It is meant to allow us to continue living actively and creating memories.
