In the middle of the night, officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police stopped a passenger car for a road inspection. A 21-year-old resident of Lwówek County was behind the wheel.
During the officers’ actions, they detected the smell of alcohol coming from the man. A sobriety test showed that the driver had nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.
In connection with the crime committed, the vehicle driven by the 21-year-old was secured as evidence.
The young resident of the neighboring county will now appear before the court for driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, an offense punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
Alcohol significantly reduces concentration, lengthens reaction time and poses a deadly threat to all road users.
