We already reported on the water situation in Nowogrodziec on June 14 at the request of Nowogrodziec residents. Hydro-Tech Sp. z o.o. publishes information about it on its website. The company informs residents of parts of the Nowogrodziec area where water discoloration has occurred that, based on tests conducted on water samples, the water has been temporarily approved for consumption provided it is boiled beforehand.
Below, we publish the announcement of the State District Sanitary Inspector in Bolesławiec dated June 19, published on the Hydro-Tech company website:
The State District Sanitary Inspector in Bolesławiec informs that tests of the quality of water from the Nowogrodziec public water supply detected exceedances of indicator microbiological parameters—the total number of microorganisms—as well as physicochemical parameters: iron, turbidity and color. Therefore, the water is conditionally suitable for consumption after boiling.
The water is conditionally suitable for consumption after being boiled for 2 minutes and left to cool. Unboiled water may be used for everyday washing, washing clothes, cleaning work (e.g. washing floors) and flushing toilets.
Work is underway to restore the water quality required by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of December 7, 2017, on the quality of water intended for human consumption (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 2294).
Warning: This recommendation remains in force until another announcement is issued.
Hydro-Tech also publishes the following announcement:
We inform you that in the area of Nowogrodziec periodic water discoloration may still occur, caused by ongoing operational work involving the cleaning of technological systems at the water treatment plant and flushing of the water supply network. These activities are routine and are carried out to maintain the high quality of the water supplied and ensure the reliable operation of the water supply system.
As a result of the work being carried out, natural sediment deposited in the installations and water supply pipes was disturbed again. This phenomenon is temporary and should subside once the operation of the water supply system stabilizes.
The discoloration currently occurring may affect the appearance and taste of the water, but does not limit the possibility of using it for its intended purpose.
Work related to flushing the final sections of the network is currently continuing, with the aim of restoring the proper water quality parameters.
We apologize for the temporary inconvenience associated with the ongoing operational work and assure you that we are making every effort to restore the proper water parameters as soon as possible.
