The new President of the District Court in Bolesławiec is Ilona Kata, the court’s former vice-president. She replaced Judge Joanna Moroz-Korycka, who had held this position since 2018.

What are the responsibilities of the President of the District Court in Bolesławiec?

The President of the District Court manages the court entrusted to them and represents it externally, performs judicial administration duties and supervises the court’s activities.

  1. Manages and represents the Court externally – except for matters falling within the competence of the Director of the District Court in Bolesławiec,
  2. Is the official superior of judges, judicial assessors, court referendaries, judges’ assistants and court probation officers,
  3. Determines the allocation of duties among judges, judicial assessors, court referendaries and judges’ assistants,
  4. Assigns judges and court referendaries to perform functions and relieves them of those assigned functions,
  5. Analyses the case law of the Court in terms of its consistency and supervises the efficiency of judicial proceedings,
  6. Performs the duties of the head of an organisational unit within the meaning of the Act of 5 August 2010 on the protection of classified information (Journal of Laws of 2025, item 1209, consolidated text),
  7. Is the controller of personal data within the meaning of the Act of 10 May 2018 on the protection of personal data (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 902, consolidated text),
  8. Provides information in response to requests submitted to the Court under the Act of 6 September 2001 on access to public information (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 1764),
  9. Performs duties in the execution of judgments concerning court receivables reserved under special provisions for the court president and supervises the collection of court receivables in this regard,
  10. Exercises official supervision over the Director of the Court,
  11. Supervises defence matters, the protection of classified information and the confidential registry,
  12. Exercises direct supervision over the administrative division, court probation officers and the activities of court bailiffs operating at the District Court in Bolesławiec,
  13. Cooperates with the Lay Judges’ Council,
  14. Presides over hearings and adjudicates in the First Civil Division of the District Court in Bolesławiec.
