She wrote to us Reader:

The newly built bicycle path to Trzebień is incomplete and dangerous. Its ending is particularly surprising, as it leads cyclists onto the main road to Trzebień (2 km beyond Golnice) – without speed-reducing gates. Moreover, drivers travelling along this road at high speed pass no warning sign reading “Caution: Cyclists”.

She added:

The path has neither information signs, “STOP” signs and speed-reducing gates at intersections with other roads, nor protective barriers on the steep embankment before the railway bridge in Dąbrowa.

And she stated:

A major drawback is that the initial section from Staroszkolna Street to Chościszowice was not built, forcing users to ride along the busy main road, for example Modłowa Street.

She also proposed a solution:

The solution to this problem would be to give the patched and pothole-ridden, 3-kilometre-long historic Dworska Oak Avenue from the palace in Kruszyn a new asphalt surface suitable for rollerbladers and cyclists, runners and walkers. It would also be closed to car traffic. This would complement the path from Bolesławiec to Kraśnik.

We asked the road manager whether measures to improve users’ safety are planned. We will publish the response as soon as we receive it.
