At the Lower Silesian Road Traffic Centre on Lubańska Street in Bolesławiec, an educational festival was held for primary school students. Nearly 500 children took part in the event. They had the opportunity not only to test their knowledge and skills during the bicycle card exam, but also to participate in numerous educational, preventive and safety-related activities.

One of the prepared stations was jointly hosted by officers of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec and traffic police officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. The officers made sure that learning the rules of safety took place in an engaging and attractive form.

The children eagerly took the opportunity to see police equipment up close. The police car and police motorcycle proved particularly popular. Participants could sit on the motorcycle and take souvenir photographs. There was also a demonstration of the work of a forensic technician. The students could see how traces are secured at an incident scene and make their own fingerprint impression.

Educational games were also prepared, including a sensory box containing objects associated with police service. The children’s task was to identify them using touch alone. Participants could also try on a police vest, hold a shield used during official operations and receive reflective elements reminding them of the importance of visibility on the road.

The festival also attracted great interest because of the presence of numerous services and institutions, which prepared their own educational stands and demonstrations. The children could learn about the work of firefighters, Prison Service officers, police officers, rescuers accompanied by rescue dogs, and representatives of the Lower Silesian Road Traffic Centre. The wide range of attractions meant that every participant could find something interesting while gaining valuable knowledge about safety, responsibility and the work of uniformed services.
