We were contacted by a reader with disturbing information, asking us to publicize the matter and warn residents. Someone scattered poisoned food near the apartment buildings at 30, 32 and 34 Kosiby Street in Bolesławiec.
According to the resident’s account, these were probably pieces of kaszanka formed into balls and stuffed with rat poison. We publish a photo of the discovered bait below.
Unfortunately, the reader’s dog ate the discovered, poisoned food. It is now seriously ill. We hope it can be saved. According to our information, another dog may also have eaten similar bait.
The animals’ owners collected some of the discovered food from the residential area, but there is no certainty that all the dangerous bait has been removed. There is a risk that more pieces are still on lawns or in other places accessible to animals. We warn all residents.
We appeal to dog owners to exercise particular caution during walks in the area of Kosiby Street, especially near buildings 30, 32 and 34. It is advisable to keep dogs on a leash and pay attention to what they pick up from the ground. We also warn cat owners whose cats are allowed outside.
