At the city council session on May 27, the organizer of the Ceramic Festival, Kornel Filipowicz, presented his “bitter grievances” (as he himself called them). He emphasized his statement to the councillors with a poster which, as he said, dated from the 1950s and which he had managed to find in the cultural centre’s archives (although in our opinion the graphic was generated by artificial intelligence).
The director of BOK–MCC complained to the councillors that his work on the city’s largest festival is made more difficult by having to answer questions including how public money is spent. For example, preparing a five-sentence response with one copy of an invoice takes the director almost two weeks. Another seven-sentence response took a similar amount of time.
Let us add that this Man of Marble has more than one and a half million złotys at his disposal to organize the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. In 2024, the official total expenditure on the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival amounted to PLN 1,594,164.94 .
For months, the festival has continued to feature in questions about money, sponsors and the rules for organizing events financed or co-organized by the municipal cultural institution.
Kornel Filipowicz also spends public money on other events. That is why questions about the budget should be asked as often as possible.
We have written about financing the festival, among other things, in the following articles:
