Bolesławiec has a reason to be proud. Tomasz Babijczuk has climbed Mount Everest and is the first Polish dentist to stand on the highest peak on Earth. This is another major success for the experienced traveler and mountain enthusiast, who has previously climbed, among others, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua. Climbing Everest is considered one of the greatest achievements in the world of high-altitude mountaineering and requires months of preparation, excellent fitness and tremendous determination.
As the daughter of the Bolesławiec mountaineer informed us:
Yesterday morning (May 21, at approximately 4:00 a.m.), Tomasz Babijczuk from Bolesławiec climbed Mount Everest. He became the first Polish dentist in history to stand on the highest peak in the world.

She added:
This is not Tomasz's first achievement, as he has previously climbed, among others, Elbrus, Aconcagua and Kilimanjaro. I have already received information that he safely returned to Camp C4 after his summit push.
Congratulations, and we wish you continued success!
About Mount Everest
Mount Everest, located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China, is the highest mountain in the world. It is 8,848.86 meters above sea level. For many mountaineers, climbing this peak fulfills a lifelong dream; however, the route to the “roof of the world” is among the most difficult and demanding undertakings in high-altitude mountaineering.
Climbing Everest involves extreme conditions. Above 8,000 meters lies the so-called death zone, where the amount of oxygen is only a fraction of that available at sea level. Climbers must contend with strong winds, very low temperatures, the risk of avalanches and immense physical exhaustion. Even with the support of experienced guides and the use of bottled oxygen, reaching the summit remains one of the greatest challenges a person can undertake.
