At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, the court decided to remand a 48-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County in custody for three months. The man is suspected of making criminal threats against his neighbors, using violence, and insulting foreigners because of their nationality.
Investigators established that the suspect left prison on January 20, 2025, after serving a sentence of one year and two months in prison for similar offenses. According to the prosecutor’s office, just a few months later he began provoking conflicts with people in his surroundings again.
The findings indicate that in the summer of 2025 he allegedly threatened his neighbors with assault, death, and the destruction of their cars. The victims were allegedly afraid that the threats would be carried out.
One of the most serious altercations occurred in August 2025. According to investigators, the 48-year-old, who was under the influence of alcohol, kicked the doors of his neighbors’ apartments, threw watermelons at one of the women, and struck one of the residents in the back with a metal pipe.
Two foreigners also lived near the suspect. The prosecutor’s office says that the man allegedly not only threatened them with assault and death, but also publicly insulted them, using offensive and vulgar words related to their nationality.
The suspect’s conduct allegedly continued until May 11, 2026. That day, he once again verbally attacked his neighbors. Frightened residents called the police.
The man was charged with criminal threats, nationality-motivated offenses, and acts committed under recidivist conditions. The offenses he is accused of carry a sentence of between four months and seven years and six months in prison.
The suspect partially admitted to the alleged acts and gave an explanation. The case is currently being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.
