A reader asked us what is happening to the Światowid statue, which once stood near the PKP railway station in Bolesławiec. We asked the city authorities for comment. As we have established, the artefact is still awaiting renovation.
Last year, the Bolesławiec City Office sought external funding for this purpose, but was unsuccessful. If the situation does not change, the City will renovate Światowid using its own budget.
According to information from the city authorities, the statue is to return to the city’s public space, although probably not to its former location—near the railway station. The most likely new location is the park by the Museum of Ceramics.
