According to the reader’s account, a few days ago, after midnight, an unknown person allegedly entered one of the properties in Wartowice. The person was reportedly moving around near the building, shining a flashlight, and then heading towards the garage door. At the time, the residents were inside the house, and cars were parked on the property.
When the person realized they had been noticed, they left in the direction of the main road and the bus stop. The reader suspects that they may have been acting together with another person or had transportation arranged.
The reader reports:
He was noticed by a person renting the apartment, who reacted by going outside and looking at what he was doing. The young guy was standing in front of the garage door located behind the house… probably high, because he was not afraid that someone was inside the house, and when asked what he was doing there, he immediately took off running towards the gate, then ran along the main street towards the bus stop, which is located by the road leading towards Łaziska… there was probably a car waiting down the road. It is possible that this was reconnaissance of the area.
My question is: what are thieves currently capable of, if they can now brazenly enter a property even while the residents are at home, looking for things that can be stolen?
Additionally, an unfamiliar car was seen in the area that same morning. Its driver stopped near the buildings and watched the surroundings. Similarly, when the driver realized they had been noticed, they drove away. According to the reader’s account, the vehicle had previously appeared in the area under similar circumstances. The entire situation may indicate possible reconnaissance ahead of potential break-ins and is understandably causing concern among residents.
According to the reader, people in Wartowice are becoming increasingly afraid for their property, and some of them no longer even report such situations to the police because, as they claim, it makes no sense. The reader adds that the lack of patrols could eventually lead to people taking the law into their own hands.
We appeal to residents to exercise particular caution, pay attention to unknown people and vehicles, properly secure their properties, and report such incidents to the police.
At the same time, we appeal to the police to increase patrols in the Wartowice area, especially at night.
