The device has been installed in the station’s corridor and is intended to help improve road safety and reduce the number of intoxicated drivers. The test is free, quick, and can be performed independently—without the involvement of a police officer.
The breathalyzer comes with operating instructions and information to help users correctly interpret the result. Within just a few seconds, it is clear whether it is safe to get behind the wheel.
Police officers remind residents that:
- a state after alcohol consumption occurs with a result from 0.1 mg/l to 0.25 mg/l of alcohol in exhaled air,
- a state of intoxication begins above 0.25 mg/l.
Officers appeal for common sense and emphasize that anyone who has doubts about their sobriety should check it before driving.
There is, however, one important condition—the test is best attended on foot. Police remind residents that it is absolutely unacceptable to drive to the test when the driver suspects they may be under the influence of alcohol.
