At the beginning of July, Piotr Roman decided to temporarily entrust him with these duties. City secretary Jerzy Zieliński will now additionally handle matters previously managed by the former first deputy mayor, Wiesław Ogrodnik.

The secretary will supervise municipal and housing affairs, flood protection, public procurement and municipal investments, the management of city property, as well as spatial planning, architecture and construction.

On our discussion forum, readers often write that Bolesławiec does not need two deputy mayors. It is now clear that the duties—previously divided between two people—can be performed by one secretary. So is this position necessary? Of course. For Piotr Roman, it could, for example, be a way to thank someone for helping in the local government elections.
