The drought is becoming increasingly severe. The situation in the forests is tragic, and the forest floor is so dry that it takes only a moment of carelessness for a fire to break out. Firefighters are responding to forest and wasteland fires practically every day. If heavy rain does not fall soon, the situation will only worsen.

On Thursday, April 30, after 4:00 p.m., a large forest fire broke out near Świętoszów. Eighteen firefighting units from Bolesławiec County and the military fire service battled the blaze. Three firefighting aircraft and a helicopter also took part in the operation. An area of 2.4 hectares of forest burned, and firefighting efforts lasted several hours. Firefighters did everything possible to prevent the fire from spreading further. The situation was brought under control.

We appeal to everyone to exercise good judgment and caution. Do not light fires or barbecue in the forest or near it. A single spark is enough to cause a tragedy and destroy vast forested areas. Let us work together to protect our safety and our forests.
