In 2026, the Lower Silesian Cyklostrada will gain new cycling-route sections: on 1 May, the urban and rural municipalities of Złotoryja and Pielgrzymka will officially open a several-kilometre section of Via Regia.

In June, the rural municipality of Bolesławiec will make a new section of the Bóbr Valley Route available, running along a disused railway line towards Trzebień. At the same time, work will begin in the municipality of Gromadka to extend the route to Modła and Chocianów. It is worth recalling that the section of the Copper Route, running along the former track bed from Chocianów to Lubin, is already complete.

In addition, further development of Singletrack Glacensis is planned, while new sections are in the design and consultation phase in several locations. Mountain-bike enthusiasts looking for an extra dose of adrenaline can use the new enduro routes created near Świeradów-Zdrój.

Bike Maraton – a Lower Silesian giant

This is Poland’s oldest and largest series of MTB marathons and races, whose history was built right here in Lower Silesia. It offers a broad sporting and recreational programme for everyone in love with mountain biking, as well as for those just starting their adventure. Several distances are available, from the several-kilometre FUN distance to the 100-kilometre ULTRA distance, along with numerous accompanying events and races for children—Bike Maraton Kids. For several years, the organisers have also been expanding the offer to include e-bikes, focusing on combining recreation, tourism and sport—a direction that has been strongly visible in Europe for the past decade.

VeloBank VIA Lower Silesia is growing stronger

The country’s largest recurring cycling event by number of participants, located entirely in Lower Silesia. The race, organised for years, enjoys enormous popularity among amateurs and masters cyclists. In 2025, VeloBank VIA Lower Silesia is also entering the world of MTB cycling. Joining forces with Bike Adventure increases the number of race days in the series to 10. In addition to Bike Adventure, cyclists will also compete in Sobótka in the Polish MTB XCO Cup, in the Olympic format, using the “Janosik” Cycling Skills Park built in Sobótka. Every type of participant will find a race for them. Each location has its own character: Sobótka is cycling tradition and the symbolism of Mount Ślęża, Żmigród showcases the nature of the Barycz Valley, Szklarska Poręba promotes the mountains and active tourism, while Kowary offers a sporting challenge finishing at Okraj Pass.

Gravel Adventure in the Izera Mountains

It is an opportunity to ride along the Izera Mountains’ endless gravel roads, admire the Izera Valley and explore winding paths crossing the forests. If someone does not want to fight for a ticket to the World Championships but would like to take part in a race with excellent views, they can choose Mega and Ultra Izera, which also start that day.

Maja Włoszczowska MTB RACE

From 16 to 18 July 2026, Polanica-Zdrój will become the centre of Polish mountain biking. The POLISH MTB XC CHAMPIONSHIPS attract leading competitors and fans, combining sporting competition with the atmosphere of a major event in a spa-town setting. The presence of Maja Włoszczowska gives the event exceptional prestige and recognition extending beyond the sporting community.

UPHILL RACE ŚNIEŻKA – Karpacz

The uniqueness of this event and the participant limit, connected with the route passing through Karkonosze National Park, mean that the starting list fills up every time within several dozen seconds, while registration closes a minute after opening. At the same time, this is a competition in which endurance and determination matter. The route leading towards Śnieżka means that every participant faces not only the distance, but above all the elevation gain and the mountainous character of the terrain.
