Update
A teenager with a head injury was taken to a hospital in Legnica.
The incident occurred on April 21, in the afternoon, in Wykroty. Initial information indicates that the 12-year-old cyclist exited a minor road and collided with a vehicle traveling correctly along the road.
An Air Ambulance Service helicopter was called to the scene. Medical personnel are currently examining the teenager. It is not yet known how serious his injuries are.
The police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident.
The services appeal to all road users to exercise judgment and caution, especially in places where minor roads join routes with heavier traffic. A moment of inattention can lead to very serious consequences.
In spring, more and more cyclists, including children and teenagers, appear on the roads. The police remind everyone to exercise particular caution both behind the wheel and while cycling.
