The Jelenia Góra district league match between BKS Bolesławiec and Włókniarz Mirsk on Saturday began with about a 10-minute delay. The reason was the referee’s objections to the condition of the pitch. Before the referee signaled the start of the game, the end line and goal line had to be corrected.

Before the match, BKS coach – Krzysztof Kownacki – did not hide his anger at the condition of the municipal facility’s turf. He posted the following on his social media:

One huge scandal. #MOSIR #Bolesławiec. A PITCH that is under warranty is supposed to have grass; none was found on the pitch, but stones were found that pose a threat to the health of the players who are about to play here. One huge embarrassment and incompetence.

It is worth explaining that the pitch had been sanded, but stones like those shown in the photo should not have been there. Returning to the match, it eventually got underway. Both teams had their chances, but the key moment came in the 35th minute. BKS then scored through Kacper Deka. His shot took a deflection, deceiving the goalkeeper and finding its way into the net.

As it turned out, it was the goal worth three points, which the Bolesławiec team urgently needed in the context of their fight to remain in the district league. It is worth adding that in the first half, the visitors from Mirsk hit the crossbar of Tomasz Hajduczek’s goal once.

In the second half, BKS had four good scoring opportunities, but failed to convert them into goals. It is worth noting that the visitors came close to equalizing late in the game. Fortunately, Jacek Bochnia managed to clear the ball heading toward the goal.

BKS Bolesławiec – Włókniarz Mirsk 1:0 (1:0).
