Police officers, under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, are carrying out intensive activities aimed at clarifying the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was discovered on April 14, 2026, in Łąka, on the grounds of the former Wizów Chemical Plants.
The macabre discovery was made by workers carrying out earthworks. During the work, they came across a man's body. According to an account by a reader of Lwówecki.info, the body may have been in that location for a long time. What's more, she said that a mark visible on the victim's clothing could suggest a wound in the area of the heart.
The area where the body was discovered is a vast, degraded post-industrial site. It contains building ruins, underground cellars and dense, uncontrolled vegetation. Conditions of this kind significantly hinder both the securing of evidence and the conduct of operational activities.
Bolesławiec police confirm that the body was found during earthworks. As junior constable Bartłomiej Sobczyszyn from our County Police Headquarters told the Lwówecki news outlet, it is still too early to determine the exact time or cause of death. Investigators are examining the case. An autopsy is expected to clarify any doubts.
Identification procedures are under way, including an analysis of available databases and comparisons of biological material.
Investigators are currently focusing on establishing the identity of the deceased and reconstructing the events that may have led to his death. The case remains ongoing.
