On April 10, 2026, the district qualifiers of the nationwide Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament “Young People Prevent Fires” were held in Bolesławiec. The event brought together students from across the county, who competed in three age categories, demonstrating a high level of knowledge in fire protection, first aid, and safety rules.
The tournament has enjoyed great interest among young people for years. Its aim is not only to popularize fire safety knowledge, but also to foster responsible attitudes and readiness to respond in dangerous situations. This year’s edition was no exception—the participants showed tremendous commitment and excellent preparation.
🏆 Results in the individual categories
In the first age group (grades I–IV of primary schools), the winner was Szymon Biegacz from ZSP in Ocice. Second place went to Kacper Pytel from ZSP in Osiecznica, while third place was taken by Wojciech Kozioł from the Primary School in Gierałtów.
In the second group (grades V–VIII), the winner was Aleksandra Różnicka from ZSP in Bożejowice. The following places went to Amelia Szymczyk from ZSP in Trzebień and Jakub Bartoszewski from the Primary School in Gromadka.
Among students of post-primary schools, the winner was Hubert Kopania from ZSE in Bolesławiec. Second place was won by Szymon Maciejski, while third place went to Karolina Puzio (both represented II Liceum in Bolesławiec).
📍 Who is moving on?
The winners of the first places in their categories will represent Bolesławiec County at the provincial qualifiers, which will be held on May 20 in Srebrna Góra. The following participants qualified for the next stage:
- Szymon Biegacz
- Aleksandra Różnicka
- Hubert Kopania.
They will compete for a place in the nationwide final.
🎁 Support and prizes
The prizes for participants in the district stage of the tournament were funded by the Bolesławiec County Office, the Bolesławiec Forest District, and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Branch of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association in Wrocław.
