Michał Warchoł announced that after talks with the wójt of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality, the stadium in Raciborowice Górne will become the home of the sports club of the new GKS “Podgrodzie” Raciborowice association.

– This is a grassroots initiative by the residents of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality, intended to bring together children, young people and adults, offering them the opportunity to spend their time actively and develop athletically – says Michał Warchoł. – All activities organized by the association will be free of charge. The stadium and sports complex will be open to everyone who wants to use the facility responsibly and in accordance with its intended purpose – adds the councillor.

1–0 for Warchoł after the wójt’s disagreement with the president of Cement

The controversy surrounding the municipal stadium in Raciborowice Górne has continued since 2022. Councillor Michał Warchoł addressed the issue of the offer to sell the municipal stadium. We wrote about it in the article Councillor Warchoł asks: how much did the owner of MP Trans want to pay for the stadium in Raciborowice and for what purpose?. Wójt Mirosław Haniszewski confirmed that Marcin Pitera , then sponsor of the GKS Raciborowice club, had submitted an offer to purchase the infrastructure of the GKS Raciborowice club, but he did not disclose it because the entrepreneur had included a business-confidentiality clause in the offer. The matter of the offer was also discussed during a session of the Warta Bolesławiecka Municipal Council on 24 October 2022.

In 2023, when he was still a councillor, Michał Warchoł asked wójt Haniszewski to make the GKS Raciborowice stadium available to more than thirty children for tournaments and training sessions that would not conflict with the senior team’s training. Wójt Mirosław Haniszewski and Dariusz Białoń, then president of GKS Raciborowice, refused to let the children in. The president justified the refusal by pointing to the high cost of maintaining the pitch. We also described this matter in the article The stadium’s lavish pitch in Raciborowice is not for children from the village.

At the beginning of 2026, the municipal stadium in Raciborowice became the subject of a dispute between local-government authorities and the club’s sponsor, private entrepreneur Marcin Pitera. No agreement was reached on the commercial lease of the facility, and the talks ended in a tense atmosphere.

As of 3 March 2026, Cement Raciborowice stopped using the municipal stadium in Raciborowice Górne. It will now become the home of the GKS Podgrodzie Raciborowice club. The club is opening children’s and youth groups. The first training sessions will begin on 22 April.
