Wrocław and Zgorzelec officers tracked down and detained a 28-year-old man suspected of robbery and the attempted murder of a 26-year-old Indian citizen. The man fell into the hands of law enforcement in Zgorzelec before he managed to leave Polish territory.
The crime took place on April 2 this year at one of Wrocław’s hostels. – In one of the rooms, the perpetrator stole the personal belongings of a 26-year-old Indian citizen. The attacker used an incapacitating agent in the form of pepper spray against the victim – reports asp. szt. Anna Nicer from the Wrocław Municipal Police Headquarters. – Then, when he failed to achieve his intended goal, he attacked the man with a dangerous instrument, causing numerous stab and slash wounds to his neck, arm and hand.
Thanks to the intensive efforts of both aforementioned units, the perpetrator’s identity was established, and he himself was detained near the railway station. The spokeswoman said: – The evidence gathered in the case made it possible to charge him with robbery using a dangerous instrument and attempted murder.
The detainee was brought before the prosecutor’s office and then, by court decision, was remanded in custody for three months. The suspect faces up to life imprisonment.
