As we previously reported, at the municipal pond in Bolesławiec, a pair of swans has entered the breeding season. The birds have built a nest and begun laying eggs. The time from laying the first egg to the last may be as long as two weeks.
The incubation period then begins and usually lasts 35–38 days. This means that the entire breeding period of mute swans—from building the nest, through laying the eggs, to the hatching of the young—may last approximately 1.5 months.
City Hall:
(...) Out of concern for the birds’ peace and safety, the planned construction of the walkway—the first stage of the project involving the renovation of the municipal pond—will have to wait until this natural process is complete (...).
Municipal pond project will have to wait.
