Officers from the Department for Juveniles and Pathology of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica detained yesterday a 13-year-old resident of Legnica suspected of a brutal attack on a woman. – The incident occurred on March 15 this year, and the collected evidence will be submitted to the family court later today – reports Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert from the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters.
She adds: – While returning home from church, the senior citizen was attacked by a minor who punched her in the face, causing bodily injuries in the form of a broken nose. The perpetrator then left the scene.
The case was taken up by officers from the Department for Juveniles and Pathology. In the course of their actions, the officers secured images of people who might have been connected with the incident, identified and questioned witnesses, and meticulously collected evidence that made it possible to fully reconstruct the course of events.
Once the evidence had been compiled, enabling further procedural steps to be taken, it became possible to detain the minor. The police spokesperson explains:
In the case of minors, every action is carried out with particular care and in accordance with the applicable regulations, so that the court has a complete picture of the situation and can make the appropriate decision.
On Monday morning, the 13-year-old was detained and taken to a police juvenile detention facility.
What happens next?
The collected evidence will be submitted to the family court later today. The court will conduct further proceedings and decide whether to apply the educational or correctional measures provided for by law in relation to the minor.
