As reported by the Railway Museum in Jaworzyna Śląska:

Already on March 28, residents of Lower Silesia and railway enthusiasts will be able to follow a unique journey by the historic “Rübezahl” steam train from Germany, hauled by a BR35 steam locomotive along with 9 passenger carriages, organized by the Lausitzer Dampflok Club.

The train’s route begins in Cottbus, crosses the border at Zgorzelec and then continues through Lubań – Jelenia Góra – Wałbrzych to Głuszyca. Facility: – During the journey, the train will travel through the longest non-urban railway tunnel in Poland, crossing picturesque viaducts and the charming landscapes of the Karkonosze and Golden Mountains. In Głuszyca, the train will change direction and travel along the reactivated Jedlina-Zdrój – Świdnica Miasto route.

Unfortunately, tickets for the train journey have already sold out, but as the aforementioned museum encourages: “all residents and tourists can follow the train along the route.”

A treat for train fans in Bolesławiec County!

Importantly, this historic steam locomotive can be seen in our county, or more precisely – in Zebrzydowa. As reported by zebrzydowa.info:

Railway enthusiasts and residents of the region can get their cameras ready – on Saturday, March 28, 2026, a unique historic steam locomotive, “Rübezahl,” will travel through Lower Silesia. This unusual event attracts railway fans from all over Poland and Germany.

There is particularly good news for residents of our town – the train will also appear in Zebrzydowa. The planned passage through the station is scheduled for around 7:45 p.m.

This is an excellent opportunity to see a working steam locomotive live – something that has become rare in everyday life.

The website emphasizes:

The time of the train’s passage is approximate and may change slightly, so it is worth arriving at the location a little earlier. 🚂
