Residents of Bolesławiec from housing estates bordering the village of Dobra are outraged. Someone reinforced the road with rubble containing shards of glass, plastic and other waste.

– This is what the road on the border of the city and Dobra looks like. Someone has turned it into a dump – a reader wrote to us and sent a photograph of the road.

The village head of Dobra took up the matter. He reported it to the police, who will initially investigate it as a misdemeanor, although the legal classification of the act may change.

– I received a report from residents that there was a problem – says Marcin Bachór. – I immediately knew where it was, because it is one of the paths leading to the nearby forests. It is one of the country roads used by many people for walks. That same day, I went to the site and found that the rubble on the road contained waste: plastic, bags and metal elements from some demolition work.

The matter may concern two properties where new houses are being built.

– The same rubble has also been dumped on the properties between the two houses being built there – the village head adds.

Let us recall that reinforcing a road with contaminated rubble (for example, mixed with plastic, polystyrene, glass or roofing felt remnants) is treated as illegal waste disposal and environmental pollution, not as road-surface reinforcement. Such action constitutes a misdemeanor and, in extreme cases, a criminal offense, for which severe financial penalties may be imposed.
