Lubin police officers took part in securing Sunday’s football match between “Zagłębie” Lubin and “Lech” Poznań. – While fans were being admitted to the stadium, officers received information from security staff that one of the men was carrying pyrotechnic articles, which are strictly prohibited at this type of sporting event – reports junior inspector Sylwia Serafin from the Lubin District Police Headquarters.
Officers detained the 23-year-old, a resident of Legnica County. The spokesperson:
They found a smoke flare on him.
Because the man had violated the provisions of the Act on the Safety of Mass Events, he was taken to a police cell. He was drunk.
After sobering up, police officers brought him before the District Court in Lubin, which, in expedited proceedings, imposed on the fan a two-year ban on entering and participating in mass events, as well as a fine of 1,800 zlotys.
That was not all. During the match, police also detained a 54-year-old man from Lubin who entered the area of the ongoing mass event without a purchased admission ticket. The man is now awaiting the court’s decision.

We remind you that a flare is a pyrotechnic article and, under the Act on the Safety of Mass Events, anyone who possesses pyrotechnic articles, fire-hazardous materials or other explosive objects or materials at a sporting event is liable to a fine and a penalty of restriction or deprivation of liberty of up to five years.
