Preparations are underway for the construction of the final section of Bolesławiec’s north-eastern bypass. The project, which will complete an important transport network around the city, is currently at the stage of completing design work and preparing to announce a tender for the construction contractor.

The estimated cost of the project is approximately 65 million złotys. Around 60 percent of this amount is to come from the government road development programme, while the remaining funds will be provided by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship authorities and local governments. The funds for the project have been secured in the budget of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The planned section will be approximately 6 kilometres long. The route will connect the area of the roundabout in Kruszyn with the vicinity of Łąka, near the A4 motorway junction in Bolesławiec. The road will connect voivodeship road No. 297 with road No. 94 and the existing section of the bypass.

The construction of this section is important for the region’s transport network. The new route will divert transit traffic away from central Bolesławiec, improve access to the A4 motorway and facilitate transport connections between the northern and southern parts of the county.

According to current plans, the tender for the construction contractor may be announced in 2026, after the design and formal procedures have been completed. Once construction work begins, the project should take up to three years, meaning it should be completed in 2029.

Opening the final section of Bolesławiec’s north-eastern bypass will significantly improve traffic flow in the city and its immediate surroundings, as well as increase safety on local roads. This is an important project for military reasons. The new section of the bypass will also be used by Polish and American soldiers stationed in Bolesławiec and throughout Bolesławiec County.
