BTS Willowa Bolesławiec volleyball players reached the final of the Lower Silesian men’s III League. In the semifinal played at Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec, they defeated SKSM KORFF Adrenalina Sobótka 3:2 after a close match lasting more than two hours.
The match was fiercely contested from the beginning. The hosts won the first set 25:19, but in the second they had to acknowledge their opponents’ superiority, losing 24:26. The next set again went to the Bolesławiec team (25:23), but the fourth set ended with a 25:17 victory for the team from Sobótka. The tie-break decided who would advance, with BTS Willowa winning 15:13 and securing a place in the final. The entire match lasted 2 hours and 13 minutes.
The victory means that the Bolesławiec team will play for the III League gold medal and has also secured participation in the playoffs for promotion to the II League.
“Today’s match gave us the right to play next Saturday on the opponent’s court. We are in the final and have the playoffs for the second league ahead of us; now we need to fight for gold in the final,” Kamil Razik, head of the BTS Willowa Bolesławiec team, said after the match.
Reaching the final is one of the biggest successes of the Bolesławiec team in recent seasons. The most important matches of the season now lie ahead: first the Lower Silesian competition final, followed by the playoffs for promotion to the national level.
If the Bolesławiec players maintain the form they showed in the semifinal, they have a real chance of earning a place in the II League and writing a new chapter in the club’s history.
