Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office (DUCS) in Wrocław cooperated with officers of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wałbrzych in tracking down companies that used false invoices in their tax settlements. – The investigation has been ongoing since 2025 and enabled the identification of several companies that issued invoices not documenting actual business transactions – explains Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokeswoman for the Lower Silesian KAS. – At present, the total value of these unreliable invoices is nearly PLN 28 million.
She adds: – Earlier, operations in this case had already been carried out in June and September 2025 in the Lower Silesian and Masovian Voivodeships. The latest operation took place on 18 February 2026; two people were arrested and brought before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wałbrzych. The suspects were charged with forging invoices and tax fraud.
The prosecutor imposed preventive measures on the suspects in the form of police supervision and a ban on leaving the country. For the crimes committed, the men face up to eight years in prison, as well as substantial financial penalties under the Fiscal Penal Code.
So far, a total of nine people have been charged in the case. Property worth more than PLN 700,000 has been secured.
The case is ongoing, and investigators do not rule out further arrests.
