The battered plaques had been irritating a reader for a long time, and he brought the matter to our attention. He wrote to the editorial office:

“On my way to work, I pass two anti-advertising monster plaques every day! One is located on Chrobrego Street, the other on II Armii WP Street. Both concern the Tourist Information Point (with an outdated address and location). Both are in a deplorable condition (dirty and damaged). I informed Mr Gabrysiak [Naczelnika Wydziału Rozwoju i Promocji Miasta, przyp. red.] about this by email (probably in March), and later I informed the Secretary of the City Office (probably in May). The anti-advertisements are still standing and frightening people.”

Tomasz Gabrysiak, asked who the plaques belonged to, replied: “The owner of the plaques is Karkonoska Agencja Rozwoju Regionalnego. The plaques were created as part of an old EU project. No one remembers which one anymore. We will ask the Agency to authorize the Municipality to remove them.”

The official also addressed the information about the lack of a response to the Bolesławiec resident’s email concerning the plaques. “Indeed, on May 22, I received an email about the matter through the City Secretary,” Gabrysiak said. “The email was anonymous, however; no one signed it. Like your reader, I am not in favor of anything disfiguring our city. Not all plaques belong to the Municipality, however, and we are not responsible for all of them.”
