As a result of an official inspection by the State Sanitary Inspection, the maximum residue level (MRL) for the pesticide tetramethrin was found to have been exceeded in the specified batch of walnuts. (The use of plant protection products containing tetramethrin is illegal in the European Union.)

Due to the above and the lack of toxicological data for tetramethrin, it is not possible to determine whether the detected level of tetramethrin in the walnuts poses an unacceptable risk to consumers. The presence of this substance in walnuts above the MRL is unacceptable.

DINO Polska S.A. took immediate action and initiated an internal procedure to withdraw the affected batch of the product from DINO Polska S.A. stores. It also informed its customers, through a notice displayed in the markets’ windows, about the possibility of returning the product “Shelled walnuts 200 g Bakaliowy Targ”.
The State Sanitary Inspection authorities are conducting an investigation and monitoring the withdrawal process for the affected batch of the product.
