“We were saying goodbye to Dad… while someone was ransacking our home”
It was supposed to be a day filled with sadness, but also family closeness.
On February 14, at approximately 2:00 p.m., during the funeral of a father and father-in-law, an unknown person broke into a single-family house in Jurków.
The house was empty – everyone was at the cemetery. Someone took perfect advantage of the moment.
The perpetrator got inside and stole many valuable items. After returning from the funeral ceremony, the family found the rooms ransacked. A security camera installed at the house recorded the thief, but the face cannot be identified.
Appeal to residents: someone may have seen something
It was the middle of the day – not night.
Therefore, it is quite possible that someone noticed a stranger or a car in the area.
Residents of the following places are asked to pay particular attention:
- Jurków
- Iwiny
- Raciborowice
Every piece of information, even the smallest, may help.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at around 2:00 p.m. is asked to report the information to the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec or by calling 112.
It could happen to anyone
The thief took advantage of the moment when the householders were experiencing one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Residents are therefore also asked to remain vigilant – especially on days when funerals and ceremonies are held, when homes are left empty.
