Krzysztof Wiśniewski is facing trouble as a member of the Civic Coalition. As we learned unofficially, today the county head received a suspension decision from the disciplinary spokesperson.

– I'm sorry, but I'm already off work. Please call on Monday – Krzysztof Wiśniewski replied when asked by istotne.pl about his suspension, then hung up.

The background includes controversy surrounding the authenticity of the county head's secondary-school diploma (the prosecutor's office is investigating the matter), as well as a factional struggle within the Lower Silesian Civic Coalition.

On one side is the head of the Lower Silesian Civic Coalition's structures, Michał Jaros (Wiśniewski is associated with him); on the other is the chair of the regional assembly, Jerzy Pokój, who is competing with Jaros for influence in the region.

Gazeta Wyborcza reported that Jerzy Pokój allegedly suggested that Wiśniewski take sick leave and suspend his party membership. Wiśniewski did not agree to this.

On February 17, the Karkonoski County Council will vote on removing County Head Krzysztof Wiśniewski from office.
