The person driving the vehicle—we do not know their gender—performed a slalom between parked cars in the snow-covered car park. The video shows the person driving the car losing control in a skid, but recovering and returning to their course. This way of driving is most often associated with a sport-driving technique called drifting.
In a controlled skid, the driver causes the wheels—most often those of the rear axle—to lose traction, controls the vehicle’s path using the steering wheel, accelerator and brake, and keeps the car cornering at an angle to its direction of travel.
Was the situation safe? We can only speculate. If the driver had lost control of the vehicle and hit the cars parked there, the incident recorded by our camera could have helped the owners of the damaged vehicles find the person responsible. Fortunately, it ended safely and spectacularly.
