The tax filing period begins

On February 15, 2026, the nationwide campaign to file personal income tax for 2025 begins. The deadline for submitting declarations is April 30, 2026.

The National Revenue Administration is once again making the Twój e-PIT service available through the e-Urzędzie Skarbowym—also in the mobile application. Completed returns prepared on the basis of data provided by employers and institutions are already waiting in the system.

In many cases, taxpayers do not need to take any action—if they do not accept or change their PIT-37 or PIT-38 declaration by April 30, it will be submitted automatically.

Who will find their PIT in the system

The following forms will be made available through the service:

  • PIT-37—employment contracts, contracts of mandate, specific-task contracts, pensions and disability pensions
  • PIT-38—capital income, such as stock-market income
  • PIT-28—rental income and lump-sum taxation
  • PIT-36—unregistered activity, foreign income and business activity taxed under general rules
  • PIT-36L—business activity taxed at the flat rate
  • PIT-OP—for people receiving only a pension or disability pension
  • PIT-DZ—children’s details for the benefit for families with four or more children

Important: only PIT-37 and PIT-38 declarations will be accepted automatically. The remaining forms must be completed and approved independently.

How to log in

The system is available around the clock from any internet-enabled device. You can log in using:

  • the e-Urząd Skarbowy application (PIN or biometrics),
  • the mObywatel application,
  • electronic banking,
  • a trusted profile or e-ID,
  • tax data.

Tax refund—when will the money reach your account?

  • up to 45 days—electronic filing
  • up to 3 months—paper form

If the declaration shows tax due, the system will indicate the tax micro-account to which payment should be made.

Tax reliefs and 1.5% of tax

The prepared returns include, among other things:

  • the child tax credit,
  • zero PIT for young people,
  • the tax relief for seniors,
  • the tax relief for returning from abroad,
  • the tax relief for families with four or more children.

Taxpayers can also donate 1.5% of their tax to a public benefit organization. In many cases, the KRS number will be entered automatically, but it can be changed.

You can also file a paper PIT return

The declaration can still be:

  • sent by post,
  • submitted at the tax office,
  • submitted online through an authorized representative.

However, the tax administration encourages electronic filing because of faster refunds and fewer errors.

Where to find help

Taxpayers can use:

Tax offices may also provide individual information by phone after identity verification using a telePIN code.

In practice, most people employed under an employment contract should only check their data in the system and possibly add tax reliefs—the rest will be settled automatically at the end of April.
