On 30 January 2026, the Bolesławiec Municipal Office signed an agreement for the implementation of the project entitled “Renovation of the municipal pond and its surroundings, improvement of water quality, increased hydrological safety and environmentally friendly measures”.

The municipal pond, located in the city centre—by the promenade and in the immediate vicinity of the historic defensive walls—has for years been one of the most atmospheric walking spots in Bolesławiec. Surrounded by mature trees and directly adjacent to Skwer 100-lecia Odzyskania Niepodległości, it will soon gain a new, modern recreational space that is friendly to residents.

The central element of the investment will be a two-level footbridge measuring 13.97 x 12.50 m, which will become an attractive viewing point and a place to relax—ideal for meetings, walks and moments of respite among greenery and water.

What will be done?

The planned works include:
- construction of a two-level footbridge,
- construction of an access path from the park walkway,
- installation of street furniture—benches and planters,
- installation of park lighting—bollards and light strips,
- reshaping of the slopes,
- new plantings, including a collection of historic roses and ornamental grasses.

The project provides for a harmonious combination of modern solutions with the historic and natural character of the site, while respecting the existing trees and landscape values.

The investor is the Municipality of Bolesławiec. The project was designed by mgr inż. arch. Anna Horwat of Lubiatowo, while the works will be carried out by Przedsiębiorstwo Handlowo-Usługowe MARKPOL of Trzebiatów.

How much will it cost?

The cost of the construction works related to the footbridge is PLN 848,700. The works are scheduled for completion by 30 June 2026. The new investment will not only make the public space in this part of the city more attractive, but will also genuinely contribute to improving water quality, increasing hydrological safety and strengthening the environmentally friendly character of Bolesławiec’s green areas—creating a pleasant and aesthetically appealing place for rest.
