District officers from Police Station I in Jelenia Góra detained a young man who caused a dangerous incident during a prom at one of the hotels in Karpacz. – On January 24, 2026, at approximately 11:40 p.m., police officers were dispatched to intervene following a report that one of the event participants was being aggressive and had allegedly assaulted another man – the officers report. – At the scene, officers found security staff holding a 19-year-old resident of Lubań County.
Police determined that the young man had behaved aggressively toward the girl he had come to the prom with. He then attacked two men who tried to restrain him, and during the intervention he also bit two security employees. All those injured required medical assistance.
Police:
A test showed that the 19-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 1.5 per mille. He was detained in police custody until he sobered up and for further proceedings.
On January 26, 2026, the man was brought before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, where he was charged, among other things, with forcing others to behave in a specific way and causing bodily harm to several people. The prosecutor imposed police supervision, as well as a ban on approaching or contacting the injured parties.
The offenses carry a sentence of up to five years in prison.
