– Police officers received a report concerning a man who had been harassing employees of a gas station in Legnica. According to the report, the man behaved in an extremely aggressive manner, raising legitimate concerns for the staff’s life and health – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – During subsequent visits, he threatened the employees, including threats to take their lives.
Frightened employees, concerned for their own safety, decided to notify the police. The spokesperson said: – The officers immediately took action and, thanks to their efficient and swift work, quickly established the suspect’s identity and detained a 52-year-old resident of Legnica.
At the time of his detention, the man was visibly agitated and aggressive, confirming that the intervention was justified and that the reporting employees’ concerns were well-founded. The prosecutor had no doubts that the evidence collected justified charging him with making criminal threats.
The outcome? A detention hearing was held yesterday, during which the court granted the prosecutor’s and police’s request and imposed pre-trial detention on the suspect for three months.
The man faces up to three years in prison for the crime of making criminal threats.
