Officers from Lubin were notified by security staff at one of the city’s supermarkets about damage to a shopping cart shelter. – As officers established at the scene, the customer was asked to leave the store after security staff noticed on surveillance footage the man’s disturbing behavior, which could indicate that he wanted to steal a specific item – reports junior inspector Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the local KPP.
When the security guards left the store with the 25-year-old, he became aggressive toward them, provoking them to fight.
When he failed to do so, he first pulled a knife from his pocket, quickly put it away, and then produced a telescopic baton. The spokeswoman said: – As he walked away, he struck the shopping cart shelter with the object, damaging the plexiglass.
As a result of operational activities, officers from the criminal division identified the suspect, who turned out to be a 25-year-old resident of Nowa Sól.
The man was arrested and has already been charged with intentional property damage. He faces up to 5 years in prison for this offense.
