In 2022, the developer PROPCO, specializing in small warehouse facilities, finalized a transaction concerning the development of a property for DPD Polska Sp. z o.o.
A warehouse and office building was to be constructed along DK 94, on the way out of Bolesławiec toward Zgorzelec. It was designed strictly according to DPD Polska’s individual needs, specifications and requirements. It was to be the first project carried out for DPD Polska as part of a development program for regional, small-format last-mile logistics facilities.
The site selected for the investment was the former location of the closed Prnjavor restaurant and hotel in Bolesławiec, Lower Silesia. Construction work began in 2022 and was suspended.
As Piotr Żak, head of the Powiatowy Inspektorat Nadzoru Budowlanego, explained during a 2022 session of the Bolesławiec city council, work on the investment was suspended after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and the resulting crisis. At the time, the investor gave these reasons for halting the project.
Three years later, however, nothing has changed. The wind blows through the site and concrete stumps stand as a grim reminder. In July 2025, we asked DPD what would happen next with the investment. To this day, we have received no response.
