On New Year’s Eve in the afternoon, emergency response units were dispatched to a road incident at the 50th kilometer of the A4 motorway toward Zgorzelec. Emergency services and the police were sent to the scene.
The following participated in the operation: OSP KSRG Krzyżowa, JRG Bolesławiec and the Police.
At the scene, responders found a black Toyota Yaris that had left its lane and come to a stop on the roadside. The car had severe damage to the front right side, as can be seen in the attached photo. Everything indicates that the slippery road surface and difficult weather conditions may have contributed to the incident.
Although the details of the collision will be determined by the police, one thing is certain – the driver of this car most likely did not make it to the New Year’s Eve celebration, and the end of the year passed for them in entirely different circumstances than planned.
The services are appealing for extra caution, adjusting speed to the conditions on the roads and exercising prudence, especially during the winter period. The A4 motorway, despite being cleared of snow, remains slippery and dangerous in places.
